Billing schedule and payment terms
- Regular billing: Monthly tuition is due on the 1st day of each month and must be paid by the 15th of the month. Payments are accepted in sequential order; partial payments (including fines) are not accepted.
- Late-payment penalties: 10% fine on the monthly tuition from the 16th to the end of the first month; 20% fine for the second month. If fees remain unpaid by the end of the second month the student will be de-registered. Outstanding fees carried into the next academic year incur a 40% fine.
- Fees due at registration: registration fee, security deposit, and the first month's fee (for registrations made after the academic year begins) are payable at the time of registration. Registration is completed only once those fees are paid.
- Payment frequency options: Tuition may be paid monthly, quarterly (every 3 months), termly, or annually. Advance payments are allowed but no discount is provided for advance payment. Rules apply to refunds/credits for advance payments when a student attends any part of a month paid for.
Boarding / boarding fees
- Boarding: Not applicable. The school operates as a day school (scheduled session times are shown for primary and secondary) and no boarding fees or boarding programme are listed.
Other costs and optional fees
- Uniforms: Charged once per year for new enrolments or when required; uniform fees vary year to year and are finalised before the new academic year. Uniforms are issued on payment of the uniform fee.
- Books and stationery: Charged once per year (includes textbooks, workbooks, online access and library resources); amounts vary and are finalised before the new academic year. Books fees are payable before the student commences the year/grade.
- Extra co-curricular activities: Some extra co‑curricular activities that fall outside the standard tuition may incur additional monthly fees for participating students; these are charged separately and may be collected through third-party providers. Club and sport activities are included in tuition, but selected extra activities may carry fees.
- Transport: An organised bus service has been introduced for students (optional service) and will carry an additional charge where used. Transport is not included in the monthly tuition unless explicitly stated for a particular service.
- Meals and other optional services: If provided as paid options, charges are applied separately; optional meal or third-party services are treated as additional fees.
Refunds and deposit return
- Registration fee: non-refundable and non-transferable.
- Security deposit refund: Refund processed only after a withdrawal form is submitted and all outstanding fees are fully paid. Security deposit is refundable within six (6) months of withdrawal if the withdrawal form and fee clearance are in order. For graduating students who submit a graduation form (SKG, Grade 10 or Grade 12), the security deposit will be refunded within 3–6 months without a separate withdrawal form.
- Tuition refunds: Tuition fees are treated as annual fees and, in general, are non-refundable if a child withdraws during the last three months of the academic year. Advance payments may be redeemed in limited circumstances described in the fee policy.
Fee payment methods and currencies accepted
- Currencies accepted: Maldivian Rufiyaa (MVR) and United States Dollars (USD) only.
- Accepted payment channels: payments via the Islanders Education Mobile App (parents must upload bank transfer slips to the app for a bank transfer to be accepted and reconciled), bank transfers (with upload of the transfer slip to the mobile app), and cheques (payment considered complete only when a cheque is realised). Third‑party payers (sponsors/institutions) may be accepted after written confirmation and school verification.
